We had a fantastic stay at Hatago Ichiya in Yamanakako. The owner was the most wonderful and warm host we encountered on our trip. The entrance and spacious common space were impressive. The room was clean with a nice view of the yard. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the free tea, coffee, water, and games in the common area. The hotel's location by the lake and availability of free bikes were a great bonus. Lastly, the staff went above and beyond to help us when we lost our bus tickets.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The rooms at Hatago Ichiya are cozy and comfortable, with everything you need for a pleasant stay. I loved having an LCD TV and a coffee machine in my room. The air conditioning in the guestrooms was a lifesaver, especially during the hot weather. It made my stay much more enjoyable. The free WiFi and free bottled water were a nice touch. I could stay connected and hydrated without any extra cost. The bathrooms were well-equipped with shower/tub combinations, complimentary toiletries, and even a hair dryer. It felt like I had everything I needed right at my fingertips. I appreciated the mini refrigerator in my room. It was convenient for storing snacks and drinks during my stay.
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the complimentary toiletries provided. However, this is just my personal preference and others may still find them perfectly fine.

hatago ichiya was a delightful surprise during my recent stay in yamanakako. the charming japanese-style room was cozy and had everything i needed. the location, right by the lake, was stunning, and the free bike rental was a bonus. i wish i had more time to enjoy everything this lovely hostel had to offer!
One minor hiccup was the gravel driveway, which made it a bit challenging to navigate with large luggage.

We had a fantastic stay at this traditional Japanese ryokan. The tatami-style room offered a comfortable and authentic experience, with stunning views of Mt Fuji from our window. The hotel had two public bath areas, designed in the onsen style, providing a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The owner of the hotel was extremely friendly and his personal photographs on the walls added a personal touch. The staff were very helpful, allowing us to store our luggage at the reception and even offering us an early check-in when we arrived ahead of schedule. The room was well-equipped with amenities such as a coffee machine and a kettle. The hotel's dining room had everything we needed, including board games for entertainment. Additionally, the hotel provided bicycles for us to explore the area.

We had a great time staying at this hotel! The location was amazing, with the best view of the lake and nearby photo spots of Fujisan. The room was very clean and the private onsens were a nice touch. We also appreciated the owner's advice on timing and locations for capturing the perfect shots of Fujisan. The dining area was well-maintained and we enjoyed the complimentary Nescafe Gold coffee. The availability of free bikes was a plus, allowing us to explore the area easily. Despite a slightly dusty blanket, we still had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again. I highly recommend this hotel.
